Workshop 1: Connection & Communication in the Saddle

15 September 2026 18:00–21:00

(Central European Time — Stockholm / Paris)
🕣 Check the time in your time zone here.

How do we create a connected, communicative partnership when we are sitting on our horse's back?

In this workshop, we'll explore the foundations of reward-based riding and look at how to transfer the principles of positive reinforcement from the ground into the saddle.

We'll explore:

  • what connection means to us in ridden work

  • how to approach the transition from groundwork to ridden work with R+

  • how to build clear and meaningful ridden cues

  • how to help your horse give fair and safe feedback

  • how to create training set-ups that help both horse and rider succeed

  • how to support young horses, crossover horses and horses who have struggled with ridden work in the past

We'll look at the details of how we teach communication under saddle - including the use of tactile cues, voice, weight, breath, focus, posture, leg, rein and targets.

Most importantly, we'll show you how we put these ideas into practice.

This workshop is about creating the foundations for a ridden partnership where communication goes both ways: where your horse understands what you are asking, feels able to respond, and has a safe way to communicate with you too.

Workshop 2: Developing Movement & Advanced Skills

29 September 2026 18:00–21:00

(Central European Time — Stockholm / Paris)
🕣 Check the time in your time zone here.

Once you have the foundations of connection and communication in place, how do you develop your horse's movement and progress towards more advanced work?

In this workshop, we'll explore how reward-based training can support horses to become stronger, more balanced, more supple and more physically capable - while continuing to enjoy their work.

We'll look at:

  • developing healthy movement under saddle

  • the foundations of lateral movements

  • improving strength, suppleness and symmetry

  • shaping more complex movements

  • working in trot and canter

  • training in a variety of ways to create a positive all-rounder

We are both passionate about helping horses develop healthy movement and physical fitness in a way that supports their emotional wellbeing too.

We'll explore how to break down more complex exercises, set your horse up for success and use reward-based training to make progress while maintaining connection and enthusiasm.

If you've ever wondered how a reward-trained horse can become a happy, confident all-rounder—able to turn their hoof to a bit of everything—this is where you'll see the pieces begin to come together.

Who is this for?

This series is for anyone who is curious about developing a better connection with their horse from the saddle using reward-based training.

You might be:

  • just beginning to explore reward-based riding

  • already using positive reinforcement from the ground and wanting to transfer it to riding

  • working with a young horse

  • retraining a horse who has struggled with ridden work

  • a crossover trainer looking for new ideas

  • an experienced reward-based rider wanting to develop more advanced skills

  • interested in healthy movement, dressage, jumping, hacking or simply creating a more enjoyable riding partnership

You don't need to have everything figured out before you join us.

We'll share the strategies, training ideas and practical tools that we use in our own work, and explore how you can adapt them to your own horse and situation.

What to expect

Practical training

We'll share our approaches through plenty of training videos, showing it to you in real life situations.

We'll talk about why we choose particular strategies, how we build our cues and training exercises, and - most importantly - show you what it looks like in practice.

Strategies you can take home

This isn't just about watching us train our own horses.

We'll explore how you can apply these principles to your own training, with practical foundations and strategies to help you make progress with greater clarity and confidence.

Q&A Sessions

You'll have the opportunity to talk with us and ask your questions about your horse, or training with R+.

We want these to feel like time spent learning together, not simply a presentation that you watch passively.

Live participation and recordings

We strongly encourage you to join us live if you can. You'll be able to ask questions directly and participate in the discussion.

But we know that not everyone can attend at the exact time, and there is a lot of information to absorb. Both workshops will therefore be recorded and made available to participants afterwards.
(recordings will NOT be sold separately - signing up is the only way to access the recordings)

Meet Us

Hannah loves training healthy, happy movement for horses through positively-trained gymnastic groundwork and ridden exercises. Her approach to riding is about simplifying the process, so that it's gentle, clear and fun for horse and rider from the first ridden steps, to creating the 'positive all-rounder' - a horse who is willing and able to turn their hoof to a bit of everything, from lateral movements, to happy hacking to jumping.

She uses innovative training routines and set-ups, rider exercises and lots of rewards to create connection and joy in your ridden partnership with your horse. She loves working with people who have always dreamed about feeling clear, confident and connected to their horse when riding, but aren't quite sure on how to get there - yet!

Hannah Weston

A love for movement,  balance and dressage shaped Angelica's journey into reward based training. To explore movements together with horse's who wants to train as much as their humans is her passion.

Nerding down on small details to create a better bigger picture and working with the environment her speciality. Wether we work from the ground or from the saddle, a higher sense of physical balance can help us feel more connected. To our horses, to ourselves.

Helping horses to a explore their body awareness and riders develop an eye and a feel for movements is at the core of what she teaches.
